PDF to PowerPoint
The PDF to PowerPoint tool converts a PDF with a text layer into a .pptx file. Each PDF page becomes one slide: the page look is kept as a picture, and the text is placed in invisible boxes on top of it. The slide looks the same, while the text can be selected, copied and searched in PowerPoint. It suits anyone who needs text from a PDF or wants to show pages as slides. Scanned pages are added as pictures only and their text cannot be selected, so run the OCR tool first. Password-protected files cannot be converted. The result downloads as a .pptx file under the original file name.
How to use it
- Choose a PDF file.
- Make sure the PDF contains text; for scanned pages, use the OCR tool first.
- Click Prepare. The pages are processed in your browser one after another as slides.
- An editable PowerPoint (.pptx) file downloads, with one slide per page.
Frequently asked questions
Can I convert a scanned PDF to PowerPoint?
Yes, but scanned pages have no text layer, so their text cannot be selected. Those pages are added as pictures only. For text, use the OCR tool first.
How do I select or copy the text on a slide?
Each piece of text is a transparent box placed over the picture. Click a box to select or copy it, or search for it in PowerPoint. Because the boxes are invisible, the slide looks like the original PDF.
Are page size and fonts kept?
The slide size is taken from the first PDF page; pages of other sizes are centred to fit. The look comes from the picture, so the fonts appear exactly as in the PDF. Text boxes are written in a common font such as Arial, which only affects the selectable text, not the look.
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is processed in your browser and the PowerPoint file is built there. It is removed from memory when you close the page.
