Frequently Asked Questions
Are my files uploaded to a server?
Not with the tools on this site. Files are processed in your browser and kept only in this page's memory; they are removed when you close the page. Your file stays on your device. The page runs all its library and font files from its own files; no requests to external servers are made during processing.
What is the largest file size that can be processed?
Files over 50 MB show a warning, but processing still runs. Files over 150 MB, or a selection whose total exceeds that, are not processed. The limit depends on your device and browser memory.
Can I process PDFs with more than 500 pages?
Files of 500 pages or more show a warning. Large files can take a long time and may strain browser memory. Do not close the tab while processing is running.
Can I open an encrypted PDF?
No. Encrypted PDFs cannot be opened. Remove the password in your PDF reader, then select the file again.
Why did Compress PDF not make my file smaller?
This tool restructures the PDF's internal layout and does not recompress images. If a lossless reduction is not possible, the file is left unchanged and not downloaded.
How is the order decided when merging or extracting pages?
In Merge PDF, files are combined in the order shown in the list. In Extract PDF Pages, pages are written in document order, not in the order you typed them.
Which image formats can I add to a PDF?
JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF (first frame) and BMP. Other formats are converted to PNG in the browser before being added; if your browser cannot open a format, an error is shown.
