PDF editor Beta

Beta: text editing may not work perfectly on every PDF. Check the result before you use it.

The PDF editor (beta) opens a PDF on one page. Add text, images or a signature, draw shapes and highlights, edit existing text, and rotate, delete, reorder or extract pages. Download the result with one click.

How to use it

  1. Choose or drag in a PDF file.
  2. Pick a tool in the bar, then click or drag on the page. Use Select to move, resize or delete objects; Ctrl+Z undoes.
  3. To change existing text, choose Edit text and click a line of text.
  4. Rotate, delete, reorder or extract pages with the buttons on the right, then download the edited PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Are my changes saved permanently in the PDF?

Yes. Everything you add is written into the downloaded PDF and shows in other readers too.

What happens to the original text when I edit it?

The old text is covered by a patch in the page colour and the new text is drawn on top. The original stays hidden in the file, so do not use this to remove sensitive information. Scanned PDFs have no text and need OCR first.

Can I edit a password-protected PDF?

No. Open protected files first with the Remove PDF password tool.

Is my file uploaded to a server?

No. The file is processed in your browser and is not sent anywhere.
